Numerology of Quaoar

I have chosen to look at the numerology of Quaoar, because Quaoar is related to Creation, and the simple truth about Creation and Emanation theory is hidden in number.

Quaoar is a force of Creation, with the power to govern the processes of Manifestation and Abstraction. It is potentially a Creator, a Preserver and a Destroyer. It governs what should live and manifest or what shall no longer be. However, it seem to emphasize the Creative process, which is a truly Magical process, bringing the divine into existence and expression. Therefore it has power over Life and Death.

All living things have their appointed time or cycle of manifestation during which the rays of the sun bring life until the greater Sun absorbes the living essence. Looking at the name 'Qua - oar'...

I am reminded of how the Egyptians sometimes portrayed cycles while using the image of a boat with oars. The number of oars symbolizing the length of the particular cycle, and the boat, symbolizing evolution, slowly gliding forward through the waters of space.

In latin, 'Qua' means "where, which way; whereby; as far as; partly", indicating the interest and the power to gain the perspective of where, whence and whither things are going. I do think this pertains to 'Qua - oar' and how it has domain over this concept of evolution and development. When becoming a knower of the things governed by Quaoar, one would also have the power to become a conscious force in evolution, realising ones potential as a co-creator with the divine. This makes one Initiate.

Quaoar reduces to the number 1. The number 1 is the initiating force, where all things begin and end. It represents the will and purpose of deity. In this case it is derived from the numbers 10 and 28--two numbers representing the fulfillment of a cycle, when again the many must become the One. From complexity to simplicity; from diversity to unity, then eventual synthesis and
at-one-ment.

The number 28 is also the number of the Moon. This is exemplified in the Hindu Nakshatras--the so called 28 stations of the Moon. Each of these 28 stations have a special influence and presiding deity. The Moon with its changing phases is the preeminent symbol of cycles, and the periodical nature of things. This again would seem to testify to the involvement of Quaoar with cycles. This would also further substantiate the connection between Quaoar and the 4th ray, since the Moon is on the 4th ray of Harmony through Conflict.

The fact that all cycles have a beginning and an end is testified to by the central position of the letters 'aoa' in 'Quaoar'. The letter 'a' represent the the alpha and the letter 'o' represent the omega, and thus the beginning and the end or the opening and closing of things. The fact that these letters have a rather central position, mean that this planetoid have the power to span that which is only apparently separated in time, but not so in consciousness.

It provides a bridge over the period of pralaya or obscuration, from one cycle of manifestation to the next, and can therefore enhance the sense of continuity of consciousness. It brings understanding for the quantum phenomena, where only certain distinct steps or developments are possible due to an original pattern, generated in the Mind of the Creator.

It therefore also have a function in the building of the Rainbow Bridge and the Science of the Antahkarana.

The name 'Quaoar' can also be naturally divided into 'Qua' and 'oar'. It is interesting to see how 'oars' are related to the sea, the waters, boates and ships on the oceans. The oars are translating the manpower into forward motion in certain directions. I think with Quaoar there is always a struggle to see where things are supposed to be going. There is a sense that things are moving along in a certain general direction, but exactly where are they moving? An 'oar' is also pronounced in the same way as a 'year' in several languages. This indicates again how 'oars' are measurements of time and cycles--something which is related to Quaoar. Now, let us bi-sect the name into its natural divisions:

This division gives 12=3 and 16=7. 12 is the twelvefold division of the Heart and the number of preciding zodiacal deities who govern the affairs and are responsible for the different aspects of evolution. It can be said that the "12 basic energies emanate from the seven stars of the Great Bear (transmitted through seven stars of the Little Bear); two of them come from Sirius and three from the Pleiades". However in the "interim or interlude of evolution" (a world cycle) these energies are stepped down into forces and are literally 16 all told." 16 is a number of evolution. We find it in the 16 prenatal epochs representing the stages that the soul goes through in its descent into matter and incarnation. We also find it in relation to the 16 potencies of the soul or The Egoic Lotus "...the laws of karma are adjusted, the clue being found in the mastery of the sixteen rays of the Ego, for which sixteen rays sixteen mantras or words are given, the real pronunciation being however reserved for initiates only."(Kali Upanishad). We also find it that "the mystery of the sixteen rays of the Ego will be revealed when the force of the Sacred Tetraktys is merged with that of the Holy Twelve."(The Old Commentary). Furthermore, the Sun spends 16 days in Ophiuchus during its annual journey.

The reduced numbers 3 and 7 are also magical numbers emphasised in the creative process. Subba Rao says in Five Years of Theosophy, page 102: "As a general rule, whenever seven entities are mentioned in the ancient occult science of India in any connection whatsoever, you must suppose that those seven entities came into existence from three primary entities; and that these three entities, again, are evolved out of a single entity or monad. To take a familiar example, the seven coloured rays in the solar ray are evolved out of three primary coloured rays; and the three primary colours coexist with the four secondary colours in the solar ray. Similarly the three primary entities which brought man into existence coexist in him with the four secondary entities which arose from different combinations of the three primary entities."

Concerning the two Rays of Spirit and Mater, it has been said that the Primordial Ray is the quality of motion, demonstrating through matter, whilst according to S. D., I, 103; "The Divine Ray contains within itself seven other rays. It is the swan with the seven young ones. It is the Logos of love-wisdom with the seven planetary Logoi. It is the Grand Man of the Heavens, with the seven Heavenly Men. It is the One Boundless Principle, with the seven principles. This is subjectively. It is the seven planets with their informing entities. It is the seven planes with their animating principles. Love-Wisdom is the manifestation of the astral (or desire) nature of the Solar Logos. In the Secret Doctrine the Heavenly Men are spoken of as: 1. Agents of creation. They are the totality of manifestation.—S. D., I, 470. 2. They are pre-cosmic.—S. D., I, 470. 3. They are the sumtotal of solar and lunar entities.—S. D., I, 152, 470. Compare II, 374. 4. They are the seven Biblical Archangels. They are the seven Forces or creative Powers. They are the seven Spirits before the Throne. They are the seven Spirits of the Planets.—S. D., I, 472, 153. 5. In Their totality They are the Secret Unpronounceable Name.—S. D., I, 473. 6. They are the collective Dhyan Chohans.—S. D., I, 477. 7. They are the seven Kumaras. The seven Rishis.—S. D., I, 493. III, 196, 327. 8. They are the Sons of Light.—S. D., I, 521, 522. 9. They are the Hierarchy of creative Powers.—S. D., I, 233. 10. They are the veiled synthesis.—S. D., I, 362. 11. They are our own planetary deities.—S. D., I, 153. 12. They are all men, the product of other worlds.—S. D., I, 132. 13. They are closely connected with the seven stars of the Great Bear.—S. D., I, 488. S. D., II 332. II, 579, 668. S. D., III, 195. 14. They are symbolised by circles.—S. D., II, 582. 15. They are collectively the fallen Angels.—S. D., II, 284, 541.

In addition to this, we should contemplate what is said in Cosmic Fire, p.1194-95; "There must not be confusion as to the distinction between the hierarchies of Beings and the seven Rays, for though there is close connection, there is no resemblance. The "Rays" are but the primordial forms of certain Lives who "carry in their Hearts" all the Seeds of Form. The Hierarchies are the manifold groups of lives, at all stages of unfoldment and growth who will use the forms. The Rays are vehicles and are, therefore, negative receivers. The Hierarchies are the users of the vehicles, and it is the nature of these lives and the quality of their vibration which under this great Law of Attraction brings to them the needed forms."

Having these relations in mind, let us look at the Creation story involving Quaoar. In the words of Mark Acuña, Tongva scholar, dancer and tribal elder: "'Quaoar' the great force of creation sings and dances the high ones (Dieties) into existence. While Quaoar has no form or gender he is usually referred to with the male pronoun. He dances and sings first 'Weywot' who becomes Sky Father; they sing and dance 'Chehooit' Earth Mother into existence. The trio sing 'Tamit' Grandfather Sun to life. As each divine one joins the singing and dancing, the song becomes more complex and the dance more complicated. In turn 'Moar', Grandmother Moon (a very complex diety), 'Pamit' the Goddess of the sea, 'Manit', the Lord of dreams and visions, 'Manisar' the bringer of food and harvests, 'Tukupar Itar' Sky Coyote (who is also our major hero), 'Tolmalok', the Goddess of Shishongna (the underworld) join in the singing, dancing and creating. And finally the great seven giants who hold up the worlds are created. The High Ones in turn are aided by 'Eagle, Duck, Bear, and Frog' in a grand earth diving story. Frog brings up soil out of the deep dark sea, and the four animals dance it flat and wide. The 'Gods and Goddesses' then furnish the world 'Tovangar' with hills, mountains, trees, rivers, etc. 'Tobohar' (first man) and 'Pahavit' (first woman) are also part of this great 'Creation song and dance cycle'.""

After this little apparent digression (only apparent for these matters are truly essential to the meaning of Quaoar) let us return to the numerology of Quaoar and its first designation as object 2002LM60:

    L M 6 0

=13=4

The number 4 relates to form and the 4th sign Cancer with its power to achieve embryonic synthesis, is ruled by the Moon. The number 13 also again relates Quaoar to the Moon, or should I say to the cyclic nature of the Moon. There is here a direct correlation with the Moon and its cycles, as there are 13 lunar months per year. The number 13 also relates Quaoar to the 13th constellation that the Sun passes through on its annual journey through the heavens. The 13th constellation being Ophiuchus, the Serpent Bearer.
