Pegasus
- The Winged Horse

Introduction
The constellation
of Pegasus govern the Gemini decanate of Aquarius, and we have recently
found a solar system comprised of a central star with circling planets--a
'twin' system to our own solar system.
The
discovery
Our Sun
and solar system is not alone in having planets circling around its
central star. The first other star to give indirect or derivatory
evidence of planets circling was that of the star 51 Pegasi. The announcement
of discovery was made on October 6, 1995, with star 51 Pegasi at longitude
24PIS17 in zodiacal intercept and 20N46 by declination.
Now we
have the first direct evidence (a photograph) of a planet revolving
round a star (or rather common center of mass). Again this star is
found in the constellation of Pegasus--the Winged Horse *). The star
is labeled HD 209458 and lies 153 light-years away from us. However
it is found in the close proximity of the star 51 Pegasi. It cannot
be a coincidence that this constellation provides us with these insights
at this time.
Pegasus
and Aquarius
The constellation
of Pegasus span approximately 28 degrees Aquarius--11 degrees Aries
in the tropical zodiac. Sidereally in the heavens, it hovers up-side
down over Aquarius--the Water-bearer and also over one of the fishes
in Pisces. It provides a bridge between the constellation of Pisces
and the constellation of Aquarius. It also provides a bridge between
the Piscean age and the Aquarian age.
Decanates
of Aquarius
In fact,
Pegasus govern one of the decanates of Aquarius, which decanate I
suspect is the middle decanate. The middle decanate is governed by
Mercury according to the Tibetan. Pegasus could for some reasons be
related to the third decanate, but Pegasus is so symbolic of the mind
(higher) and so much endowed with the power to relate, that it has
to be a decanate governed by Mercury. The Winged Horse taken as a
constellation, is definitely Mercurial. The Tibetan says the following
about this middle decanate in Aquarius:
"Saturn,
having offered opportunity and proffered us a choice to bring about
the needed changes and to destroy that which holds back the free expression
of the soul, eventually stands aside in order to let His great Brother,
Mercury, spread the light of the soulintuitive and illuminating[Page
149] upon the situation, to interpret for us, through our own illumined
minds, the significance of events and to relate the old and the new,
the past and the future through the light of the present. Hence, the
subjective usefulness of the present general trend towards meditation
processes which bring about the capacity to be "impressed from
on high" (technically understood) and to be illumined by the
light of the soul.
...Mercury
is becoming increasingly active. A steady illumination is taking place
and light is being thrown on all problemslight on government
and politics through experiments and the study of great and basic
ideologies; light on the material nature of the world through all
the many branches of science; light on humanity itself through education,
philosophy and psychology. This light is spreading down to the very
darkest places in our planet and its many forms of life."
I think
the Piscis Australis--the Southern Fish is more properly related to
the third decanate, than Pegasus is. The third decanate is governed
by Venus and Moon/Uranus according to the Tibetan. Legend says the
Southern Fish commemorate the transformation of Venus into the shape
of a fish when bathing. The name of the major star, Fomalhaut, indicate
the relations to the decanate rulers (Venus and Moon/Uranus) by being
called "Form-alhaut" and "Foam-alhaut". In any
event the second and third decanates of Aquarius are profoundly inter-twined
and inter-dependent--like Mercury and Venus in Gemini. Then with the
rising influences of Gemini and the alignment of Jupiter with the
mind that has joined the fish, there is enabled the attainment of
conscious integration of soul and spirit. The Tibetan further say
the following about the decanates in Aquarius:
"When
the task of Saturn and of Mercury has been accomplished, then during
the third decanate, Venus, which is the union of heart and mind, will
usher in the long hoped for era of love-wisdom, of brotherhood and
of expressed brotherly relationships. Opportunity IlluminationBrotherhood:
these are the gifts that Shamballa is planning to confer upon mankind
during the Aquarian Age, if man will but prepare for them, accept
them, and use them. Only the future will make clear man's reaction.
The Moon which here takes the place of Saturn hides the planet Uranus.
In this case Uranus, the occult planet, stands for exoteric science
which penetrates into the hidden side of form life, and thus we have
the period wherein man is not alert enough or conscious enough to
seize upon opportunity and turn it to esoteric or soul ends, but can
identify himself with the more advanced aspects of form. The energy
which produces opportunity, illumination, and brotherly love as expressed
and attained upon the Fixed Cross, demonstrates upon the Mutable or
Common Cross as difficulty, the versatile and volatile mind (unstable
and dark) and as sex. Saturn, Mercury and Venus, bringing inevitably
difficulty, illumination and brotherly love. "
The
Pegasus Quadrant
The constellation
of Pegasus is found at northern latitudes of 3N--36N. It contains
a great square or quadrant, which is indeed a 'landmark' in the sky.
The quadrant actually borrows a star in the head of Andromeda--the
Chained Woman. It is the star Alpheratz which does double duty and
forms the quadrant together with Algenib, Markab and Scheat in Pegasus.
Thus is formed a square (Pegasus quadrant) standing on the head of
Andromeda. This is a symbol of the power to be "impressed from
on high". It is a symbol of how many basic and fundamental forms
are brought into the light of the soul and mind, and how light reaches
to the very darkest places and forms.
The
Quadrant, the four royal stars of Persia and Eclipse of -99
There
is actually a potent connection between the four royal stars of Persia,
and the cross or Grande square of the August 11 solar eclipse and
this heavenly quadrant. The configuration at the eclipse reflect the
heavenly quadrant, which itself reflect and magically convey the influences
of the four royal stars as follows:
Antares
==>> Scheat ==>> Mars in Scorpio
Aldebaran ==>> Algenib ==>> Saturn in Taurus
Fomalhaut ==>> Markab ==>> Uranus in Aquarius
Regulus ==>> Alpheratz ==>> Sun and Moon in Leo
[Some astrologers will note how a new aspect of astrology is here
indicated. An aspect of astrology which take literally the occult
statements that "God Geometrizes" and "As above, so
below". The geometry of the systemic planetary configurations,
will be found to precipitate certain more archetypal extra-systemic
configurations and their influences and accumulated karma.]
A study
of the influences of these stars will bear this out. Scheat--"who
goeth and returneth" (currently at 29PIS22) is a terrible scorpionic
star with terminative yet transforming potencies; Algenib--"who
carries" (09ARI09) is the blotted beggar with confiscated resources;
Markab--"returning from afar" (23PIS29) is the avatar, high-strung
and propelling; Alpheratz--"the horses navel" (14ARI18)
is literally a double star in the 'chained woman'--where the Moon
is in the arms of, or under the control of the Sun (Vulcan). Pegasus
was created out of the blood of the severed head of the Medusa. One
of the meanings of this is that Pegasus, as a representative of the
soul and higher mind, thrive when the lower more concrete aspects
of mind are conquered. Pegasus is active in all kinds of relations.
The opposition
of Sun/Moon to Uranus at the eclipse symbolize how the past and the
future is brought to light in the present. A bridge is created from
the middle of the age of Pisces into the middle of the age of Aquarius,
via the present. Therefore events particularly from the middle decanate
of Pisces (governed by Andromeda), i.e., from ca. 600 AD --1400 AD
are relayed via the present into the future. That future is particularly
focused in the middle decanate of Aquarius (governed by Pegasus),
i.e., from ca. 2800 AD -- 3600 AD.
Historical
events related to Pisces decanates
Simply
by investigating events in history occurring towards the end of the
middle decanate in Pisces--late 14th century AD, we can see important
parallels with events in our present time. Let me give a few keywords:
Byzantine chaos, earthquakes and Turkish conquerings; Scandinavian
integration in Kalmarunionen; aggression and destruction of Timur
Lenk, last Mongol conqueror penetrating all the way to Moscow; Ming
Hong Wu, the emperor of China, cementing the traditional social system
repelling the Buddhist or meditative Qui Gong practices, claiming
them to dissolve the power of the state; rebellious peasants in England,
subdued and put to order; Shogun rule in Japan; Aztec rise and destruction
in Mexico...
The
concept of 36 decanates of an Age
Adding
to the influence of Andromeda and Pegasus in the present, is the understanding
that we just have entered the 35th decanate of the Piscean age (assuming
all 36 decanates are reflected in each sign and age). The 35th decanate
is the middle decanate of Pisces (on the Wheel of Consciousness),
which is governed by Andromeda. The Tibetan is ambiguous and list
many planetary rulers for this decanate--for good reasons. The Moon,
Vulcan, Mercury and the Sun are all involved here--the control of
external form and the isolative Vulcan experience, the inner freed
mind and the light bestowed in the merging of that mind with soul.
This 35th decanate governs from around 1997 AD -- 2057 AD. It is now
for man to evidence control of form and outer circumstances. In the
34th decanate from around 1937 AD -- 1997 AD, man was bound and held
captive by the Band holding the two fishes in Pisces. Man became the
pawn of fate and the Plan was substantially revised in its adaptive
aspects. Now, man must evidence his learning from these experiences.
The
moving vernal point
Furthermore,
the Vernal Point is rapidly approaching the star Scheat, and will
align, I believe, around the year 2045 AD. This will coincide with
a 15-year Scorpio sub-cycle where the age of Pisces is divided into
144 (12*12) sub-cycles. Alpheratz aligned around 970 AD and Algenib
aligned around 1340 AD. Alpheratz brought its manifoldness or culture
and Algenib blotted and brought confiscation. Around the year 2470
AD, Markab will align and an Avatar will come.
The
ruling planet of Pegasus
Those
of you that have an understanding of the Uranian planet called Appollon
will see its resemblance's with the constellation of Pegasus. The
constellation Equuleus--the Colt or little horse nearby, together
with the star Alpheratz, add that sense of there being 'more than
one', which is so characteristic of Appollon. The two horses of Equuleus
and Pegasus, provide good reasons for governing the middle or Mercury/Gemini
decanate of Aquarius.I will even venture to say that Appollon 'govern'
the constellation of Pegasus/Equuleus and is their planetary agent
or representative within our solar system. Appollon is presently found
in the 21st degree of Libra, just recently ingressed the third decanate
of Libra, where its influence is heightened.
The major
planet that resemble the influences of Pegasus is Mercury, but it
houses many other influences than that of Pegasus. A good analogy
is that of how the major chakras receive the energies of the lesser
chakras, yet they are of separate and distinct influence. The astrologer
will note that implicit in this, is that the undiscovered planets
govern the extra-zodiacal constellations. Their influences will therefore
focus in certain decanates and govern certain crisis and processes,
rather than signs. However, of course these crisis and processes will
be linked to certain major signs.
Anyway,
the influences of Pegasus seem active in the present period, and the
recent discoveries provided through the agency of Pegasus bears this
out. Pegasus spreads light and of course the internet is also quickened
by its influences. The constellation is activated because it is a
bridge, between people, but particularly it is abridge between Pisces
and Aquarius. It's influences have been precipitated by systemic planetary
configurations, much like a major chart configuration can be triggered
by transits. We are now actually getting a taste of the second decanate
in the age of Aquarius, where its influences are psychologically
focussed.
This
bridging energy 'between the two', is also present in the recently
discovered body named Quaoar...
Borne
on the wings of speculation...
*) If
we discount the occult statement that "Neptune does not belong
to our system", then we have only now for the first time concrete
proof of Extra-systemic planets.
